The returning officer for the by-election to the Lungla assembly constituency in Tawang district, RD Thungon, handed over the certificate of election to BJP candidate Tsering Lhamu on Friday after she won the election uncontested.
Lhamu, the first woman legislator from Tawang, conveyed her gratitude to the other political parties for supporting her candidature for the Lungla assembly seat, which had fallen vacant after her husband Jambey Tashi – who was the Lungla MLA – passed away recently.
Also thanking the people of the constituency, she said that she would give her best to complete the unfinished projects initiated by her late husband.
Lhamu also conveyed her gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and all other legislators of the state assembly. (DIPRO)
