Four Swiggy delivery agents killed in road crash in Gurugram

A speeding car slammed into four Swiggy delivery agents on the Golf Course Road in the early hours of Thursday, killing them all, according to police.

They said the incident happened as the four men were driving home from work, and that the car’s driver, who was allegedly drunk, had been apprehended.

The deceased agents have been identified as Govind Patel, a native of Madhya Pradesh, Gopal from Uttarakhand, and Jitender Mondal and Rajnish Mondal, both natives of Bihar.

Moreover, the families of the deceased have been notified, according to the police.

According to the police, a speeding black Skoda Rapid car slammed into the two motorcycles from behind, dragging one of them for several metres.

Further, according to the police, one of them died on the spot, while the other three died as a result of their injuries while being treated at a private hospital.

The accused has been identified by the police as Harish alias Harsh aged 36, a resident of Sector 43.

Station House Officer (SHO) of DLF phase-1 police station Naresh Kumar, said, “We have registered a case against the car driver and taken his blood sample. We are investigating and action will be taken as per the law.”

Moreover, he also said that the police had taken the damaged car and bikes into custody.
