Two Indian Air Force or IAF fighter aircraft — Sukhoi-30 and Mirage-2000 – crashed in Pahadgarh area of Morena in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.
Morena additional superintendent of police Rai Singh Narwariya said, “An air force team is reaching the spot to confirm about the plane and number of people present in it. Police found a hand near the plane.”
According to defence sources, the two aircraft had taken off from the Gwalior air base where an exercise was under way.
IAF officials have said that the details of the incident will be shared after the complete assessment of the incident is done. As per the latest update, the wreckage of the planes has been spotted. Search and rescue operations have been launched.
IAF court of inquiry to establish whether there was a mid-air collision or not. The Su-30 had two pilots while Mirage 2000 had one pilot during the crash.
