SpiceJet has announced new flights for its Summer Schedule 2022, which will begin on March 27th. Sixty new domestic flights have been added to the airline’s schedule, including seven UDAN flights, eight industry-first flights, new connections, and increased frequencies.
The summer schedule starts on March 27 and ends on October 29.
SpiceJet said it has launched seven new flights under UDAN on the Hyderabad-Puducherry-Hyderabad, Gorakhpur-Kanpur-Gorakhpur, Gorakhpur-Varanasi-Gorakhpur and Varanasi-Patna sectors. All of these flights will be available on a daily basis.
“The airline has added 60 new domestic flights to its schedule, including seven UDAN flights, eight industry-first flights, new connections and additional frequencies,” it said.
Moreover, in a statement, the airline said that in the summer schedule, it will launch eight industry-first flights on the Gorakhpur-Kanpur, Gorakhpur Varanasi, Jaipur Dharamshala, and Tirupati Shirdi sectors.
Moreover, it has also increased the frequency of flights between Delhi and Dharamshala, Rajkot, Gorakhpur, Patna, and Srinagar; Goa and Hyderabad; and Mumbai and Bagdogra.
The UDAN scheme provides financial incentives to selected airlines from the federal government, state governments, and airport operators in order to encourage operations from unserved and underserved airports while keeping airfares affordable.
The aviation regulator DGCA announced last Friday that Indian carriers have increased their domestic services by 10.1 per cent to 25,309 weekly flights in the upcoming summer schedule, up from 22,980 last season.
