Dhemaji district which borders Arunachal Pradesh gears up for the upcoming Assam polls 2021. It has received 19 additional companies of central and state armed police for the election.

Besides this, 8 companies of Sikkim Police are deployed in the district.

The huge deployment of central and state armed police is due to a smooth and peaceful conduct of the Assembly election.

People of Dhemaji district will vote in the first phase, i.e. March 27.

The district has been put on high alert for the poll as informed by Dhemaji superintendent of police (SP) Dr Dhananjay Ghanwat informed that

He added adequate forces have been deployed at sensitive, hypersensitive and critical polling stations under the district.
