Assam Election: Guwahati Traffic Police changes Traffic Routes as HBS going to file Nomination

The Guwahati Traffic Police issued guidelines for vehicular movement in the city for today and tomorrow as BJP leader Siddhartha Bhattacharyya and Himanta Biswa Sarma will be filing their nominations for upcoming Assam Assembly election. 

The guidelines have been issued In order to facilitate free movement of vehicles and to avoid chaos and traffic congestion.

The guidelines are as follows:

  • Vehicles coming from the Maligaon area to take AT Road
  • Vehicles coming from Saraighat Bridge will have to enter Guwahati via National Highway
  • Temporary shops along the roadside to be evicted
  • The road along Meghdoot Bhawan to be kept clear and free of any traffic
  • Vehicles will be allowed to park at TC Girls’ High School point, Rotary Club, Bhootnath, Lachit Ghat
  • Guwahati Traffic Police department have urged commuters to avoid MG Road for these two days
  • Hem Baruah Road and A.T. Road will be available for parking of vehicles
  • Vehicles coming from Maligaon will be allowed to park at Bhootnath
  • Vehicles coming from Chandmari will have to divert towards A.T. Road via Reserve Bank
