Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos unveils $100 million ‘Courage and Civility’ award upon his return from space

On July 20, billionaire Jeff Bezos launched his business Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft into orbit, marking a watershed event in space exploration. Upon his return to Earth, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos announced a $100 million “Courage and Civility” award.

This award will be given to leaders who work with the public to address issues that face humanity.

Van Jones, an American political analyst, and José Andrés, a celebrity chef, received the first two “Courage and Civility” awards. Each award winner will get a $100 million prize.
