APST Resumes Public Transport Service in Itanagar

Arunachal Pradesh State Transport department (APST) resumed its much-awaited city bus services in the state capital, giving a huge sigh of relief to the daily commuters especially students and daily wage earners who had to shell out lots of money while commuting through private mode of public transport to reach their destination under ICR.

The decision to resume city bus services was taken in a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary. According to a circular issued by the Transport Department, the city bus service was resumed after a hiatus of more than 8 months due to COVID-19. They had pressed into service Two Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) buses and two Force traveller (Passenger vehicle) that would run between Naharlagun-Chimpu and Banderdawa – Ganga on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, it is advisable that every passenger use facemask and follow safety measures since the Pandemic isn’t over yet .
