Arunachal Pradesh’s Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles distributed beads to the people of Nogna village in Tirap district on Tuesday under its civic action programme. The beads were distributed to promote beadwork to help the women of the village in generating a source of income.
Reportedly, Nogna village is considered one of the most underdeveloped areas in the Tirap district.
The Nogna – Thungjang is a Village in Laju Tehsil in Tirap District of Arunachal Pradesh State, India. It is located 13 Km towards South from District head quarters Khonsa. 217 Km from State capital Itanagar. It is surrounded by Pongchau Tehsil towards North, Dadam Tehsil towards west, Khela Lamsa Tehsil towards North, Khonsa Tehsil towards North.
On the occasion, an interactive session was also organised, where people were educated about the benefits of beadwork.
The village authorities lauded the security forces for their noble effort to empower the villagers, especially the women section by promoting bead making craft.
It is to be mentioned that beadwork in Arunachal Pradesh showcase the cultural importance of the State’s rich cultural heritage and diversity.
