Papum Pare DC Sachin Rana has called for the successful implementation of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ (bringing the flag home) campaign while chairing a review meeting on Wednesday.
DC informed that the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken up the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ — a nationwide campaign to encourage people to hoist the national flag at their homes to mark the 75th Independence Day.
“To hoist the national flag is not only an act of personal connection with the tricolour but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and promote awareness about our national flag,” he further added.
Informing that 35,700 flags have been placed under demand for Papum Pare, he urged heads of various departments, NGOs and PRI members to encourage the people to buy the flags.
“The flags at a rate of Rs 25 per piece shall be made available in all the administrative offices across the district by 1st August,” he said while urging people to come forward and make the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign a mass movement.
Speaking on the Flag code of India, 2002 he called for exercising utmost respect for the national flag whenever it is on display.
“It should occupy the position of honour and should be distinctly placed. A damaged or dishevelled national flag should not be displayed,” he added.
After threadbare discussions, the members present agreed to volunteer for the purchase and sale of the flags and organise a flag march as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
The meeting was attended by all the administrative officers and HoDs.
