Arunachal: DC Urge Schools to Follow COVID Safety Protocols

Somcha Lowang

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang inspected a few residential schools in Ziro to check whether COVID Appropriate behaviours and SoPs have been followed by the educational institutes in the Lower Subansiri district.

Accompanied by DMO Dr Tage Kanno and Nada Duri from the education department, the DC on Friday interacted with the students and asked them to follow the Covid 19 SoPs issued by the district administration in letter and spirit.

DC Somcha Lowang also directed the school in-charges to ensure physical and social distancing is maintained in the classrooms and hostels and mandatory use of sanitisers and masks.

The inspection team also took stock of the vaccination status of the teaching and non-teaching staff and directed the school in-charges to submit the updated status to the deputy commissioner’s office.

The team further took stock of the status of isolation rooms and the SoPs adopted by the schools in case of any positive cases.

“We won’t hesitate to issue closure of hostels if Covid-19 SoPs are violated,” DC further added while instructing the school authorities to maintain hygiene in the hostels.
