Five villages in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district that includes Kengkhu, Phangtip, Hatongchu, Longvi and Longka have been declared drugs-free. The recent development took place following 41 youths from Longvi and Longka, who completed a month-long de-addiction course at the de-addiction centre in Bordumsa.
DC Dr Devansh Yadav gave away certificates to the former drug users and urged them to stay away from drugs. The Gram sabhas also passed a resolution to ensure that the de-addicted youths do not relapse.
Taking to twitter DC Devansh Yadav wrote, “Two villages- Longvi & Longka declared 100% drugs free. Deaddiction wave is sweeping Changlang & youths in 5 villages De-addicted completely now. Thanks to @MossangR for providing services & to SHGs + ZPM.”
