Arunachal: Free book Exchange Library inaugurated at Naharlagun

Despite most cities still having libraries or reading clubs yet books fall short when competing with smartphones and video-games, especially where young people are concerned. In a bid to rectify this and to build a reading culture in the community, a group of youth of D-sector, Naharlagun area decided to set up a”free book exchange library” at the dumping zone area.

The library was inaugurated at D-sector Tiniali, near Mahatma Gandhi Park by Ward No-14 corporator Gyamar Tuvin on Sunday in Arunachal Pradesh.

“It is a very good initiative by the youth. I think more people must come forward and encourage the youth for such future projects,” said Tuvin. “Book lovers can drop and get books anytime from the library,” informed the D-sector Youth Association president Lokam Nunga.
