Arunachal: Govt school gets smart classroom

The Deputy Director of School Education, Tabia Chobin of Lower Subansiri district inaugurated a smart classroom, with a touch screen digital board, projector and desktop at Government Secondary School in Gandhi, Hapoli on Friday.

Digital education programme is being implemented in the district by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The desktop, digital board and other facilities were provided by the Information Technology (ITC).

Speaking on the occasion, the DDSE said, “It’s a first of its kind venture in the district to foster creativity among students and enhance the learning outcomes.”

He said the smart class project envisages the provision of Google Chromebooks, K-Yan devices, UPSs, desks, internet facilities and other requisite digital infrastructure.

He called upon the teachers to ensure optimum and the best use of the digital devices for augmenting the teaching-learning process.

He requested the teaching staff to inculcate discipline among students and urged students to have social activities within the school compounds from time to time. He also advised teachers to dedicate themselves to their own duties and re-set their minds for the welfare of the unprivileged students.

The K-Yan smart classroom would benefit 135 boys and girls of class I to X, headmaster Gyati Tajang said. (DIPRO)
