Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra reviewed the internal and external security preparedness of the state with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Indian Air Force Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Eastern Air Command (EAC), Air Marshal, Amit Dev on Monday at Raj Bhavan.
The Governor in the meeting suggested the Indian Air Force (IAF) to continue the compassionate flights that provides the location population with basic commodities of rations where air supply is the only method for their sustenance. He also put forward the matter of the outstanding bill of IAF against the state asking it to be resolved at the earliest.
Governor Mishra called for activating the Advance Landing Grounds (ALGs) for civilian purposes in addition to national security. He said that the ALGs have been very useful at times of medical emergencies. Commending the Eastern Air Command (EAC) for conducting a number of humanitarian flights and rescuing men and materials during natural calamities.
Chief minister Pema Khandu who recently visited several remote villages along the Indo Tibetan border, shared his observations during the meeting. He sought the humanitarian assistance of IAF for the border villages at times of emergencies and during disasters.
