The Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) organised a cleanliness drive along NH 415 from Papu Nallah to Chimpu on Saturday to commemorate the golden jubilee celebration of Arunachal Pradesh and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Corporators of various wards, IMC officials and others attended the cleanliness drive along with their men & machinery.

While interacting with the reporters Mayor Tame Phassang informed that, the mass social service was conducted as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and to commemorate the golden jubilee celebration of the state.

“Though cleanliness drives are a regular process of the IMC, but with these activities we want to send a message to the denizens that we want to make the state clean, green and drug-free. It will only be possible to keep the city clean if equal support is provided by each and every denizen of the city,” Phassang said.

He also informed that as part of the month-long celebration of the golden jubilee celebration of the state, different kinds of activities would be conducted by the IMC to create awareness amongst the denizens.
