Arunachal: IRBn SI Shibu George Murdered in SRPL Colony Quarters

In a mysterious incident, 50-year-old Sub-inspector (SI) Shibu George of India Reserve Battalions posted as station officer in the DGP’s cell at the police headquarters in Chandranagar, was reportedly found murdered in his official quarters in SRPL Colony on Friday morning.

SI George’s body was found in his quarters early in the morning, with grievous injuries on his neck with a sharp weapon, Police sources informed.

The police further informed that George was living alone in his official quarters and that it is a case of culpable homicide. They also believe that the incident might have occurred on Thursday night.

It is to be mentioned that Late George was a native of Kalluvathukkal, in Kollam district of Kerala and is survived by his wife, son and daughter. George joined Arunachal Pradesh Police as a constable in 1989.

A case has been registered at the Chimpu police station and investigation has been launched. A special investigation team has been formed to probe the case and is said to have arrested a person from Lakhimpur, Assam.

The postmortem was conducted at the TRIHMS, and the body will be taken to his native place for the last rites.
