Arunachal: Meeting held to Discuss Truck Fares from Tawang to Bhalukpong

Tawang DC Kesang Ngurup Damo on Wednesday conducted a preliminary meeting to finalise truck fares from Tawang to Bhalukpong. The meeting was attended by executive members of All East Kameng West Kameng & Tawang Truck Owners Association.

DC urged to find out a middle way and said that suggestions from ADCs of subdivisions, zila parishad members, truck owners and other agencies like FCI, Army and paramilitary forces will be sought at before finalisation of the rate.

DC lauded the contribution of truck drivers in the development of the area and asked the association to submit the name of sincere and dedicated truck drivers who will be felicitated by the administration on ensuing Independence day celebration at Tawang.

The association earlier submitted a memorandum to DC and requested him to take up the matter of finalisation of truck fares from Bhalukpong to Tawang at an earliest and also apprised that the finalisation of truck fares is long pending demand of the association.

The district administration has invited all the ZPMs, ADCs and other stakeholders to attend the next meeting which has been fixed on July 26 to finalise the truck fare.

ADC (HQ) Lobsang Tsering, EAC cum District Transport Officer Choiki Dondup and other officials attended the meeting.
