Arunachal Pradesh’s MLA Kaling Moyong along with Deputy Commissioner Kinny Singh inspected the landslide and sinking zone in Rengging village, East Siang district on Sunday.

Gaon Burah Tamak Tamuk and Gram Panchayat Chairperson Jury Jamoh Padung informed that several portions of the village are gradually sinking and sliding down towards the Siang river.

The villagers also reported of many crack lines in the village area due to which the residents are living under constant fear particularly during monsoon season. Former ASM Durga Paron said the government primary school located at the village is also on the verge of collapse due to landslide threat.

The district administration has decided to constitute a five-member committee comprising Magistrate, DDMO, AMDO, WRD etc to study the ground situation and submit the report within a week.

On the advice of MLA Moyong, DC Kinny Singh also declared to invite seismologists to study the underground soil composition of the area.
