Arunachal: Mumbai City FC Signs Young Footballer Gyamar Nikum

In a huge achievement, Football Prodigy from Arunachal Gyamar Nikum has been signed by Mumbai City FC from the I-League side Rajasthan United FC.

The team has completed the signing of the 18-year-old Gyamar Nikum by paying a record transfer fee of Rs 60 Lakhs for a player of his age. The contract is said to be of Four and a half year deal with an option to extend further.

He was reportedly also chased and wanted by fellow ISL side FC Goa. But, it was the Islanders who won the race to sign one of the young hot prospects in the country.

Gyamar Nikum made his debut for his club Rajasthan United FC squad during the I-League Qualifiers on 20th October 2021, at the age of 16. He went on to become one of the youngest players from Arunachal Pradesh to play in the competition when he appeared against Madan Maharaj in the Qualifiers.

The young Footballer caught the attention of coach Vikrant Sharma during the pre-season in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, and was offered a scholarship seat at its Residential Football school, following his outstanding performance in the BC Roy Trophy Championship.

Meanwhile, Nikum will get to feature in the country’s top-division matches and possibly catch the eye of the national team coach in the process.
