Arunachal: People in Tawang Come Out in Solidarity With Dalai Lama

Thousands of people on Saturday came out in Tawang to show solidarity with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Protesters took out a peaceful march from Chhamieng near Tawang Monastery to Parade ground. The march was carried out jointly by a group of NGOs, Student Bodies, Members of Business Community, Taxi union, and the general public of Tawang under the banner, “We Stand With Dalai Lama.”

Abbot of Tawang Monastery Sheiding Tuiku Thupten Tendar, Chairman DoKAA Jambey Wangdi, Dr.Venerabie Rikya Lhavoe Rinpoche, Secretary General Monpa Mimang Tsogpa Namgey Tsering, MMT Vice President Pem Chowang, Secretary General TMEs Kesang Norbu, Director Jamtse Gatsai Lobsang Phuntso, Venerable Monks, Nuns and Public leaders also participated in the peaceful rally.

Protesters took out a march condemning the Media Groups for tarnishing the image of the Living Buddha. They demanded media channels to apologise for their irresponsible comment and portrayal of the spiritual leader. 

They said the Dalai Lama’s act has been misrepresented and wrongly projected by some miscreants on some social media platforms, seeking to harm his image. 

Student leader Urgen Dorjee informed that an ultimatum of 15 days with Memorandum asking strict action against those miscreants should be submitted to the highest office of government of india.
