Arunachal Pradesh Police on Friday revealed the murder mystery of Techi Meena Lishi. The Police have apprehended five individuals including her husband Lishi Roni. In a press briefing, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chukhu Apa informed that it was a conspiracy, hatched by the prime accused Lishi Roni a few months back to eliminate his wife. The husband had been detained in the first instance and later arrested along with the driver. Later three more people have been apprehended in the case and had been brought to the police station.
Elaborating the incident, APA informed that ” On 5 November, a Toyota Innova Car bearing registration No AR-01-H/3782 allegedly met with an accident at Block point, Karsingsa in which Techi Meena Lishi succumbed to injuries. The police attended the case and accordingly a case has been registered at Banderdewa Police station”. However after inquest, police suspected foul play as the injuries on the body of the deceased does not match up to the nature of the accident and accordingly the driver of the vehicle Datang Suyang was detained for further interrogation. Earlier the driver was not cooperating in the process of investigation but after four days he went on revealing some of the information and in the meantime Lishi Roni was also detained and later arrested along with the driver, Apa said.
On November 9, the driver finally disclosed about the plan hatched by Lishi Roni, husband of the Late Techi Meena planned the murder of his wife who was 7 month pregnant at the time. Hired killer was arranged through an old friend named Kapwang Letey Lowang of Tirong Village who had arranged the contract killer. On 27th October three people arrived from Khonsa (Tirap district) namely Datang Suyang, Kapwang Letey Lowang and Taney Khoniyang and stayed at a hotel in Itanagar. On October 28 Lishi Roni finalized the plan to kill his wife with Kapwang and an amount of Rs. 10 lakhs was fixed, out of which five lakhs was paid in advance saying that the murder should look like an accident, the IGP said.
The Capital police arrested Dathang Suyang on 5 November, Lishi Roni on 10 November while Tirap police apprehended the other three accomplices Kapwang Letey Lowang, Taney Kholyang and Damriet Khonyang. Several items have been recovered from the site including the vehicle that has been seized and further investigation is going on to get more information.
