The Arunachal Power Pay App was launched by CM Pema Khandu and Deputy CM Chowna Mein on March 15 to make online electricity bill payment from anywhere as digital service growing across the world, said power department’s Capital Electrical division EE Jora
The dynamic app was developed by Capital Electrical division, has numerous options, like customer care centre, Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, sending bills digitally, EE Lali, said in an exclusive interview.
The App offers various prepaid and postpaid payment systems which not only helps easy payment but also removes scope for pilferage of revenue and avoids unnecessary works of departmental staff and trouble of consumers, he said, adding there are 687 consumers who have registered to avail the facility.
“It has been doing wonders by facilitating 28,000 consumers of Itanagar, 32,000 of Naharlagun and the service is also available in Pasighat, Tezu, Namsai and Roing and extended to Ziro, Aalo and Daporijo soon,” he said, adding the target of the App is to cover total 2.8 lakh consumers of the state.
“I am assisted by my staff Habung Yami and when the COVID-19 was in its most treacherous form we both were attending to the service in the office which had served as a blessing in disguise,” he said.
How could Arunachal Pradesh remain behind when the world is going digital, he wondered?
In fact, EE Lali was conferred with state award (gold medal) for developing the APP .
