In a huge achievement, Arunachal Pradesh has become completely free of Coronavirus after three patients recovered from the virus bringing the number of active cases to zero, as per bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services.
Of the three discharged, all were from Namsai. With this, the total recovery rate stands at 99.66 per cent.
According to the bulletin, the state did not record any new COVID cases in the last nine days. The State has recorded 16,836 COVID cases so far of which 56 succumbed to the virus. Meanwhile, Chief minister Pema Khandu took to twitter to make the announcement.

It may be mentioned that Arunachal had reported its first COVID19 case on April 2nd last year. Meanwhile, State Immunisation Officer (SIO) Dimong Padung said 32,325 health and frontline workers have received vaccine shots in the state thus far.
The health department has been carrying out the inoculation drive four days a week – Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
