The lockdown in Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) has been extended for seven more days by the Arunachal Pradesh Government.
The decision of lockdown extension was taken during a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in view of increase in COVID-19 cases in high numbers from the State Capital.
Lockdowns in Tawang, Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Namsai, Lohit and Anjaw would continue to remain enforced for seven more days. The announcement was made by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
The lockdown which was scheduled to be lifted on May 31, will now continue till June 7.
CM Pema Khandu said, “Arunachal Pradesh is yet to come out of the danger zone. We must continue to take strict measures to contain the spread of the disease”.
