Arunachal Pradesh: Pema Khandu discusses developmental issues with Guv

The Cm Pema Khandu called on Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday during which several ongoing developmental activities and welfare measures for the people of the state to mitigate the challenges arising due to the Covid-19 pandemic were discussed at length.

The governor, who examined the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi on Monday, shared his views with the chief minister and showed “if various components of the prestigious project are not expedited, its completion would be difficult.”

The governor recommended an increase in workforce, plants, types of machinery, and work shifts. He also suggested starting the multi-component work simultaneously. Mishra also shared his concern about the rampant invasion of the Reserved Forest near the airport.

The governor, who was prepared earlier by the senior engineers concerning the work progress on the Miao-Vijaynagar PMGSY project, shared the finer points for rushing up work along the decisive road.

Sharing his observation, the governor informed for multipronged work points to fast track the road project. He said on account of its long stretch of 157 km road, there must be five to six contemporary work points, on both ends of the road, from where the road-building activity must be taken up.

Mishra pointed that along the 157 km long stretch of the road, there are several rivulets, some perennial, and some seasonal, which need bridges.

He suggested that the implementing agencies must place the invention order for the bridges and start of the construction of the embankments abutments and approach roads must commence on there at the earliest.

The governor also discussed posting of good officers to relieve the present Controller of Examination and another officer to assist the Controller of the Examinations.
