Arunachal : Preparation for Covid-19 immunization; Chief Secretary directs DCs

To take assessment of the state of readiness for Covid-19 vaccination in the state, a meeting of deputy commissioners was called by the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary, Naresh Kumar on Thursday.

The deputy commissioners were asked by Kumar to look upon the obtainability of cold chains and related vaccination instruments in their respective districts, with the possible launch of Covid-19 vaccine by 2021.

The deputy commissioners were directed by the chief secretary in the virtual meeting to monitor all procedures of readiness for the immunization drive making sure that all support and facilities are in hand for smooth rollout.
In India Today’s annual State of the States Award-2020, Kumar highlighted that Arunachal has been awarded the ‘leading small state in the fight against Covid-19.

Complimenting the deputy commissioners’ he said, “I would like to request you all to the work with the same zeal and tempo as you all were in the past 9 months”.

Stock of health, panchayati raj, land management and planning departments were also taken by Kumar.
The deputy commissioners were directed by the chief secretary to accomplish all land acquisition cases pertaining to defence, BRTF, NHIDCL and ITBP.

Utilization certificates of works carried under Border Area Development Programme, North East Council, Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources, State Infrastructure Development Fund, North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme, Rural Infrastructure Development Fund and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes were asked to be submitted at the earliest.

Kumar said, “The timely submission of utilization certificates is important in order to claim the next installment of the projects. It will also ensure that developmental activities do not take a hit”.

The meeting was also attended by Land Management and Planning commissioner P S Lokhande and Health & Family Welfare secretary P Partibhan.
