He further appealed to the public to take active participation to keep mountains clean and green by collecting those wastes for recycling and re-use purposes.
He commended the members of the Women’s Welfare Association of Tawang for volunteering in the campaign.
He also requested the WWA members to work in close coordination with district administration and Army to disseminate information regarding the ban on single-use plastic, segregation of plastic waste at home and collection of empty bottles.
On every 1st and 16th of the month, the empty bottles and plastic waste collected from villages, towns and military areas will be dispatched for recycling and re-use, informed Brigadier N M Bendigeri.
“Tawang is one of the most beautiful places, and it is our responsibility to keep its natural beauty intact and hand it over to the next generations without being damaged and polluted,” he added.
