Arunachal Pradesh’s former beauty pageant winner Roshni Dada emerges as the winner of MTV Supermodel of the Year Season 2. She scripted history by becoming the first Arunachalee woman to win the popular reality TV show.
Roshni Dada lifted the winner’s trophy, while crowd favorite Eksha Hangma Limboo from Sikkim and Swapna Priyadarshini of Odisha who were adjudged the first and second runner up respectively. The models were judged on the grand finale by Malaika Arora, Milind Soman, Anusha Dandekar and Masaba Gupta.
According to reports Roshi bagged a sum of Rs 5 lakh and a year-long modelling contract.
Roshni Dada, who entered the show as a demure and hesitant contestant, came a long way on the show to become one of the strongest contenders for the trophy. She evolved on the show as a confident individual with constant feedback from the judges and mentors.
Roshni Dada said in a statement, “Winning the title of MTV Supermodel of the Year Season 2 is like a dream come true moment for me. Today, I’m beaming with confidence while being unapologetically myself and ready to take over the world.”
“Amidst all the odds and where I come from, I never thought I would come this far but I’ve learned to stay strong, focusing graciously on my own journey. I owe it to my amazing competitors,” she added.
She is also the second diva from the northeast to have won the title of MTV Supermodel of the Year as Manila Pradhan from Sikkim had won the title in 2019.
A native of Arunachal Pradesh’s East Kameng District, Roshni is a Nursing student and a proud daughter of Sasung Dada and Sanari Dada of Jeju Dada village.
It is to be mentioned that after winning the ‘Miss Arunachal’ title for the year 2019, she represented the State in the FBB Colors Femina Miss India the same year.
