Arunachal Pradesh Chief minister Prema Khandu on Monday held a review meeting with the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the State. The meeting was attended by PHED Minister Wangki Lowang & Advisor to PHED Min Lokam Tassar.
In a virtual conference with all the field officials of the PHE and WS department, Khandu assured the support of the state government for meeting the target of JJM coverage by 2023. He also assessed the coverage of Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) for rural households and drinking water supply in schools & Anganwadi centres. He further reviewed the status of formation of village water and sanitation committee, preparation of village action plans along with water quality testing in the laboratories.
Applauding the work performance of the department, Khandu also requested for timely submission of utilisation certificate for early release of pending funds. He also lauded the earlier performance by the department in achieving the target for ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’ well ahead of the deadline, and hoped for similar achievement in JJM mission.
