On January 24, 2022, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), met with the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, at Raj Bhavan in Lucknow. They discussed shared topics on which Arunachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh may work together to benefit the people of both states.
The Governor urged people in both states to work together in the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ to improve interaction and mutual understanding. He advocated for the promotion of long-term and structured cultural connections in areas such as language acquisition, culture, traditions, music, tourism, sports, and the sharing of best practises, among others.
The Governor, who is on an official visit to Uttar Pradesh, visited Kashi Vishvanath Temple and informed the UP authorities about the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) project to build Parshuram Kund in Arunachal Pradesh. He advocated for the exploration of tourist joint ventures, notably in religious tourism, horticulture, organic farming, skill development, and exchange programmes for students, teachers, and professionals.
The Governor notified the UP Governor that a considerable number of Arunachal Pradesh students are pursuing medical, engineering, and other disciplines in various Uttar Pradesh institutions. He asked the Governor of Uttar Pradesh to look after their well-being.
