Chief Minister Pema Khandu met with Gov Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra at Raj Bhawan on Monday and discussed developmental issues, the Covid pandemic, law and order, and education.

The Governor emphasised the importance of close monitoring and unhindered progress of the state’s development projects.

Because of the early monsoon and the short time available for construction, Mishra emphasised the importance of completing roads as soon as possible.

The Governor expressed his deep concern about the rising number of Covid-19 positive cases in the state and advised the chief minister to enforce Covid appropriate behaviour and protocol strictly.

He expressed his deep concern about the disruption of ordinary people’s lives caused by frequent agitations and bandh calls, and he urged people not to force life-altering agitations on daily wage earners, school-age children, housewives, and the poor.

According to a Raj Bhawan communiqué, the governor and chief minister discussed the establishment of the State University at Pasighat as well as general improvements in the state’s education.

The governor also expressed concern over the resurgence of Covid-19 and advised the people to observe Covid-appropriate behaviour.
