Arunachal Govt imposed night curfew and other restrictions until January 31

Night Curfews

Amid an increase in COVID-19 cases, the Arunachal Pradesh government imposed several restrictions on Tuesday, including a night curfew and other restrictions until January 31 to break the chain of infections and prevent the deadly outcomes of the new variant “Omicron,” which has heightened tensions among medical fraternities worldwide.

According to an order issued by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, a night curfew will be imposed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on January 12. While all public and private schools will be closed until January 31, online classes will be held on working days.

All universities, colleges, and technical institutions have been advised to regulate class timing by maintaining 50% attendance and adhering to COVID protocols, as well as COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB). Only people who have been fully vaccinated from other states will be allowed to enter Arunachal Pradesh, according to the statement.

Offices, bars, restaurants, gymnasiums, public transportation, swimming pools, and cinema halls will operate at 50% capacity, while businesses whose proprietors and employees have been fully vaccinated can operate until 8 p.m., according to the order. It has also advised that Arunachal Pradesh’s Republic Day and Golden Jubilee celebrations be postponed.

The order has also decided to ban mass gatherings and weekly haats. Arunachal Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally rose to 55,878 on Tuesday as 186 more people tested positive for the infection. The death toll remained unchanged at 282 as no fresh fatality was registered in the last 24 hours.
