JP Nadda Thanks Arunachal for BJP’s Clean sweep in Civic Body Polls

Assam: BJP’s ‘electoral magic repeats once more in State

The BJP had a clean sweep in Arunachal Pradesh’s civic body polls and the national president of the party, JP Nadda, has thanked the people of the state for the victory. In the Gram Panchayat (GP) polls, out of 8,215 seats, results for 7,717 seats were declared.

While the BJP was able to win 6,062 seats, the Independent candidates won 892 seats, Congress – 388, NPP – 199, JD(U) – 148 and PPA won 28 seats. In the municipal polls, the BJP won 10 seats out of 20 in the Itanagar Municipal Corporation and in Pasighat Municipal Council, the saffron party was able to win 6 seats out of 8.

In the Panchayat polls, out of 242 Zilla Parishad members, the BJP has won 185 seats while Congress won 11 seats, JD(U) – 9, NPP – 5, PPA – 3 and Independent candidates won 25 seats.
