Meet Arunachal Pradesh’s budding entrepreneur Abel Songthing who has been providing employment opportunities to the people in Khonsa town by starting a bakery unit.
A law college dropout Abel Songthing of Old Lainwang village in Tirap district has turned entrepreneur and job provider by setting up a bakery unit named ‘Moms Bakery.’ Through his new venture Songthing has been able to generate employment to the unemployed with the help of Deen Dayal Upadhayaya Swavalamban Yojana (DDUSY) under the ‘vocal for local’ initiative by the state government.
Songthing, while sharing his experience, expressed gratitude towards the state government, district administration and SBI as well for accepting his venture by providing financial assistance through bank loan under DDUSY for setting up his ‘Moms Bakery’.
He said that he couldn’t complete his law course due to the corona pandemic but added that it had taught him to work hard and be self-sufficient (Aatmanirbhar), as a result, decided to become a job provider rather than a job seeker. He further appeals to the unemployed youth to avail government schemes and become self-reliant.
ADC headquarters Kretkam Tikhak praised the young entrepreneur’s initiative, calling it an inspiration to the rest of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding (TCL) districts’ unemployed youth.
He urged all educated unemployed youth to take advantage of numerous initiatives under central and state-sponsored flagship programmes to ensure a sustainable livelihood.
