Rural Development Minister Bamang Felix on Wednesday chaired a review meeting of Arunachal Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM) and said that rural Arunachal can only transform if the ArSRLM fulfils its mission.
He also exhorted the officials of ArSRLM to consider themselves as missionaries for transforming and reforming rural areas of the state and execute their duties accordingly.
During the meeting, various issues such as institutional building process, financial inclusion frameworks, Deen Dayal Upadhaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY), ArSRLM organisational structure, activities and recruitment process were reviewed in detail.
Stating that ArSRLM activities not only facilitates sustainable financial empowerment of rural folks but also bring about positive behavioural changes among them, Minister Felix asserted that the state government under Chief Minister Pema Khandu is keen towards providing all possible assistance and support to the mission.
The Minister cautioned political interference into the workings of the ArSRLM, especially in regard to the transfer and posting. He advised all officers and officials to consider the entire geographical area of the state as their workplace.
He further advised the ArSRLM team to emphasise on involvement of rural womenfolk in their activities and undertakings while stating that empowering mothers is the first step towards transforming the entire society and state.
The minister assured all possible assistance and support to the ArSRLM from the government.
Mission CEO Dr Kego Jilen, who is also Director of Rural Development, encouraged the officers and officials to make ArSRLM the best performing team in the nation.
He advised them to be pro-active and committed towards their responsibilities and stated that the existence of ArSRLM depends on their performances.
