Rescued Asiatic black bears successfully rehabilitated in Arunachal

The two healthy Asiatic black bear cubs were just three-four days old and hadn’t even opened their eyes when they first came to the Centre for Bear Rehabilitation and Conservation (CRBC) Pakke tiger reserve, Seijosa, in February.
After the unfortunate demise of their mother in a conflict situation, the cubs were handed over to the forest department by the residents of Wanu village in Arunachal Pradesh. Two days later, they were shifted to CBRC for further care and rehabilitation.
After almost 3 months of their admission, the duo are well and have gained weight and size. This was the youngest batch of bear cubs so far and their survival was a serious challenge. The team at the Centre for Bear Rehabilitation and Conservation are very happy that they managed to pull this off so well.
They will be nursed and rehabilitated till it’s time to release them back into the wilderness. Meanwhile, the PS- 42 Asiatic black bear cubs have been sent back to wild and released in Arunachal following their rehabilitation at CBRC.
