Residents of Mirbuk-Pekung, Diking, and Napit villages in Bogong Banggo close here sought the East Siang district government for assistance after failing to persuade telecom service providers to enhance internet services in their region.

The people blamed their area’s lack of infrastructure (mobile towers) on the bad internet access. They said that private mobile/internet service providers had ignored their demands for new cell towers to be built in their region.,

Residents from the three villages recently met to discuss the issue and formed a committee to take it up again with the East Siang district government. On August 2, they filed a petition with the DC.
