It has come under the notice of the Government that few people in Tawang District are slaughtering/killing and selling domestic animals like Yak, Cow, Sheep, Goat, Zho, Zhom, Pig etc with hunting down of wild fauna in parts of the district.

Such indiscriminate killings are against the religious practices of the Monpa community and they are nearing extinction which could bring social dis-balance and affect peace and calmness in the district.

Therefore, DC-Cum-District Magistrate of the Tawang District has ordered a ban in slaughtering/killing of domestic animals and hunting of wild fauns with immediate effect for two months.
