A training programme on innovation and livestock entrepreneur development for farmers was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Lower Dibang Valley district, Somcha Lowang on Monday.
More than 100 farmers, entrepreneurs, and SHGs from Ziro-I and Ziro-II blocks are participating in the training programme organized by District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, Ziro under RKVY-RAFTAAR (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation).
Addressing the farmers, DC Somcha Lowang advised them to utilise the opportunity to learn and create sustainable livelihoods through livestock entrepreneurship.
She also suggested an exchange of good practices and ideas between the farmers through interactive sessions.
District Veterinary Officer Dr Hano Tama was briefed about the training programme. He informed that Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) is a flagship scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (MoA&FW).
It is aimed at strengthening infrastructure in agriculture and allied sectors by building agripreneurship and agri-business ecosystems in the country, facilitating financial aid to potential Agri startups and nurturing a system of business incubation, he said.
Later in the technical sessions, experts Dr Kime Gyati, Dr Lige Basar, Dr Taga Nalo and Dr Bamin Rillung educated the farmers on the deep litre system of pig farming, goat farming, dairy farming, poultry farming and innovations and livestock entrepreneur development.
