The 45-metre-long RCC bridge over the Tirap river connecting Tutnu and Nogna in Tirap district has been completed, according to Khonsa PWD Division EE Wangpong Rongrang, who informed Tirap DC Taro Mize on Tuesday. According to the EE, the 6.5-kilometer Tutnu-Nogna PWD road has also been completed.
Mize visited the Lazu EAC headquarters and the Tutna block on Tuesday to inspect various ongoing projects.
The DC inspected the 6.5-kilometer-long PWD road from Tutnu to Nogna, as well as the Tirap River bridge, accompanied by Tirap ZPC Chathong Lowang, departmental engineers, and others.
He also inspected the PMGSY road from Nogna to Thungjang (8 km) and directed the work department and the contractor to complete the road within the time frame specified in the DPR without sacrificing quality. Khonsa RWD Division EE Nending Bath and the contractor assured that the road would be completed in all aspects by March of this year.
Meanwhile, the DC paid visits to the Upper Kolam government secondary school, Nogna upper primary school, and Thungjang primary school. In response to a public memorandum on the education sector, the DC promised to address the issues after consulting with DDSE Hortum Loyi, who accompanied him.
The DC also raised awareness about the importance of observing Covid-appropriate behaviour, especially in light of the emergence of the Omicron variant in the country. The DC was accompanied by ADC Kretkam Tikhat, ADEO Kutung Hangphuk, and DPC Tehat Tangjang, among others.
