Assam: Eminent musician of Assam, Kula Barua passed away on Thursday midnight. The well-known musician took his last breath at his residence in Silpukhuri at the age of 83. He was suffering from high blood pressure.
The famous musician was born in Guwahati in the year 1938 to late Lily Barua and late Premadhar Barua. He worked as an artist of All India Radio. He started his musical journey after performing at the ‘Semoniar Sora’ programme. His songs include, ‘Jumi Jumi’,’Mon Dekhun Hobo Khuje’,’Moi Jen Eta Batorua’,’Tenekoi Nasaba’ and many more. He also worked as a music director for two films-’Xadori’ and ‘Srimoti Mohimamoyi’, both by Atul Medhi.
