Cabinet Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh survives terrifying armed attack in M’laya residence

Ampareen Lyngdoh, a prominent Cabinet Minister in Meghalaya, had a narrow escape from a harrowing armed attack that occurred at her residence in Laitumkhrah on July 11. The incident unfolded with a group of miscreants pelting stones at her home, which led to the minister alerting the police for assistance. In the midst of the chaos, Lyngdoh, along with her family, ventured outside in search of the culprits, only to face a menacing assailant armed with a machete. Fortunately, her husband and son demonstrated tremendous bravery by intervening and successfully subduing the attacker, averting any further harm.

The local law enforcement authorities were promptly notified and swiftly arrived at the scene, apprehending the assailant, identified as Teibor Lyting, a 46-year-old resident of Kharmalki. Disturbingly, it was revealed that Lyngdoh had previously been targeted by the same individual before the elections, suggesting a potential motive for the attack.
