CM Sarbananda Sonowal paid his tribute to martyred CoBRA Inspector Dilip Kumar Das at Bharegaon village in Sarupeta under the newly-created Bajali district.
Inspector Dilip Das was martyred during the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma-Bijapur border on April 3. He joined the CRPF in 2001 at Chhattisgarh and was posted in Chhattisgarh at the time of the attack. He left behind his wife Pranjali Das and two daughters — Hiyamani Das (11) and Risha Das (03) — along with his father Banamali Das and mother Maina Das, besides a host of relatives and well wishers.
Around 22 security personnel were killed and 30 others injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. The gun battle took place in a forest along the border between Bijapur and Sukma districts in Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister also paid homage to another brave soldier, Bablu Rabha who sacrificed his life in the Naxal attack. Sonowal then spoke to martyr Bablu Rabha’s mother Kalyani Rabha, wife Lipika Rabha and seven-year-old daughter Bhopali. MP Tapan Gogoi, Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Tankeshwar Rabha, BJP alliance candidate Shyamjit Rabha, Sixth Schedule Demand Committee president Mahidhar Rabha and Goalpara district BJP president Himadri Das accompanied the Chief Minister.
Talking to media persons, CM Sonowal said that Bablu laid down his life for the country. He would always be a role model for the future generation. “All facilities will be provided to the family of martyr Bablu Rabha as per government norms,” added Sonowal.
