Five more persons infected with COVID-19 succumbed to the virus for the third day in a row. The victims were from Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur districts. They are aged between 31 and 80 and with this the number of deaths due to Coronavirus in the state now stands at 415.

Meanwhile, another 256 new positive cases for COVID-19 were reported in the state, taking the total registered confirmed cases of coronavirus to 31,161.

On Sunday, the total active cases stood at 1,823. These new cases were reported from Imphal West (112), Imphal East (56), Churachandpur (18), Bishnupur (17), Kakching (13), Thoubal (13), Ukhrul (12), Noney (4), Kangpokpi (4), Chandel (3), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (1), and Senapati (1), respectively.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.
