Tripura saw its highest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with 1,385 more people testing positive for the infection.
With four new fatalities reported on Tuesday, the total number of people killed in the last four days has risen to 12. According to the report, the West district had the most new cases with 610, followed by Unakoti with 145.
The positivity rate was 14.86% out of 9,321 samples tested, according to the report. In the last 24 hours, 492 patients recovered from the disease.
“We are sorry to note that COVID appropriate behavior protocol is often ignored in public places. If people don’t respect the guidelines, the situation will turn worse by next month,” COVID surveillance officer Deep Debbarma told reporters.
Meanwhile, due to an increase in Covid-19 cases, the state government extended the night curfew by one hour, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., to 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to state Information Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
