AIKS pleads Modi to implement suggestion from committee

The All India Kishan Sabha (AIKS) has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to execute the exhortation by the committee, headed by agricultural scientist Dr. MAS Swaminathan in a bid to revoke the farm bills.

The farmers are still protesting against Farmer’s produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and Farmer’s (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 passed by the Parliament. The AIKS cleared everything in a memorandum which has been sent to Prime Minister Modi from Lakhimpur on Thursday through the deputy commissioner of Lakhimpur district. The memorandum demanded that police atrocities against the protesting farmers be stopped, led by the district president of All India Kishan Sabha, Girindra Prasad Upadhyay.

The farmers’ body said 250 farmers’ organizations strode towards Delhi in protest at odds with the farm bills and they were inhumanely obstructed by the police on the outskirts of Delhi by cultivating trenches on roads, throw away a pile of earth on the way, and spraying water cannons on them. Earlier, the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and its students’ wing Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (SMSS) put on an affirmation against the farm bills at Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district on Wednesday.
