The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) led by Pramod Boro saw joining of 10 members of the Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) at the party office, Mwiderkhoro in Kokrajhar town, on Wednesday. The joined GSP leaders contested in the recently held BTC election but could not succeed. Kokrajhar MP Naba Kr. Sarania leads the GSP.

The GSP members who joined the UPPL were Dhajendra Rabha (contested from Soraibil), Pankaj Das (Jomduar), Ranendra Koch (Kachugaon), Thaneswar Rabha (Baokhunguri), Sajoy Sarania (Salakati), Hafizur Rahman (Srirampur), Mafidul Ahmed (Guma), ArunBoro (Khoirabari), Daniel Mardi (Nagrijuli) and Robin Murmu (Panchnoi Serfang). The new members were welcomed with traditional Aronai and party symbol by President of the UPPL, Pramod Boro during the joining ceremony. Pramod Boro claimed that both GSP and UPPL would remove corruption and wrong management in the BTC.

Boro plans to cultivate a clean and transparent government to enable people of all communities to enjoy their rights and privileges. He claimed that it was a correct step to include the 10 GSP members into UPPL as they would forward their support in the development process.

For the upcoming assembly elections, fresh strategies will be taken by Boro in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts where they lost most of the seats.
