Assam: 5-months Pregnant Woman treks Difficult Kedarnath Yatra

Char Dham Yatra halted by State Govt

In a society where pregnancy is still seen as a woman’s most vulnerable state. With her 5-month-old pregnancy, Pooja Sharma, an Assamese girl, hiked India’s most arduous expedition, the Kedarnath Yatra trek.

The Instagrammer has been posting photographs of her travels on the social media platform. While some applauded the occasion, others expressed reservations.

The 40-kilometer up-and-down journey took her more than 12 hours to accomplish. Earlier this year, she hiked the Vaishnodevi Mata during her one-month pregnant.

Pooja Sharma is the founder of Vedham Foundations, a non-profit organisation dedicated to women’s empowerment and child development.

The blogger’s major motivation for embarking on the hike, according to her, was to promote the notion of women being strong in all parts of life.

Ripun, her husband, followed her on the trip and documented everything on his YouTube channel ASSAMOR RIPUN.
