At the ongoing session of new Assam legislative assembly, Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi took oath as MLA of Sivasagar.

Pro-tem speaker Phani Bhushan Choudhury administered the oath.

Gogoi was taken to the Assembly under police cover. He had contested and won the polls from Sivasagar district. Gogoi is behind bars and is yet to get bail in multiple cases against him.
